The new uniform

Well here she is all dressed up in her very formal winter school uniform. She starts tomorrow. Fingers crossed all goes well.

This is her PE top. I used it for a Blue photo challenge. It really brings out her beautiful blue eyes.

The kids and I have been baking and card making this weekend. It has been raining. I will have to take some photo's where the light is better.

Have a great week

Pretty in Pink

Kloe was all dressed up in pink yesterday and she looked so pretty. I asked her if I could have a photo or two. She said I could, if her precious Strawberry the teddy, could have some too.

Open morning at school turned into morning and afternoon. Jarred got a bit bored with all the speeches in the morning session. We then went on another school tour, with some lovely Year 12 students. I think I know this school better, than their current school. Kayla has her interview this morning. Fingers crossed we get a very quick acceptance. She will start next term, so she is able to get her subject choices for next year. The next few weeks are going to be very busy getting organised for it.
Have a great week

Boo

I hope you were sitting down and haven't fainted with shock.

I have had, lots of reminders that my blog hasn't been updated.

Life has just come first, in the last few weeks and there hasn't been time for blogging.

- It's been cold and wet. Everything is muddy, but so lovely and green.

- Kloe has been swimming with school ,for the last two weeks. Surprise, surprise she got a cold after the first week and couldn't go for a few days. It's a bit hard when the outside temp is single figures and they are going swimming. Even if it was at the indoor pool. She is on the mend which is the main thing

- Zac has his interview for Monivae(Catholic college) for next year on Thursday. He is a man of few words but did very well in his interview. I don't think he has ever said so much in a short space of time. We had a school tour on the same day and he was offered a position for next year in Year 7.

- Zac had an orientation day yesterday at Monivae. He was the only one, from his school there, which was a bit scary. He was introduced to some boys in the morning. He seemed to have a good day. He even cooked and did music. He wasn't too sure about moving schools - he has a few really good friends where he is, but he is coming around to the idea and is actually happy about it. He is a very smart kid and he needs the opportunity to shine and not get caught up with all the bad influences of his current school.

- Kayla has her interview at Monivae on Monday. After lots of discussion and finally us insisting, she is also going to be changing schools. She will start next term, as she needs to make her subject choices for Year 9. She has finally accepted she needs a better learning environment and a better social environment. Fingers crossed it will all work out for the best. It's been a very hard decision, but one that we both feel is necessary.

- Jarred has been a very social little boy. He has had a few birthday parties to attend in the last few weeks. He just loves going to them. He always makes special cards and presents for his friends.

- Jarred had book week at kindy last week. On Wednesday he dressed up as Batman and on Thursday he was Spiderman - no surprises there.

- Kayla is back to cooking every Thursday. We all love her cooking days. As soon as she gets in the car, we are all asking what she has made and can't wait to eat it.

- Kayla and Zac have both been having sleeps overs. Last weekend they both had a friend stay for the whole weekend.
- Chris is now on the cricket committee and has been busy organising sponsorship for the coming season.

- Chris bought himself a chainsaw the other week. Got a bargain from ebay.

- I meet a lovely lady who has recently moved to town. She is a Stampin' up demonstrator (Cards and Stamping) We have had, two get togethers already and plan on making it a regular thing. She has a four year old daughter and her and Jarred get on like a house on fire.

- My scrapbooking has taken a backseat lately. I just haven't' had the time to sit and do much at all. Well not as much as I would like.

- Thanks to my friend Rach, I have started stitchery items for Christmas. Jarred got so excited when he saw Christmas stuff - very hard, trying to explain to him that it takes a long time to make these thing and I have to start very early. He keeps asking how many sleeps - so cute.

I'm sure there is a million other things - I just can't think of them at the moment.

Some recent pages - all for challenges

Stitchery in progress
Pizza making the other week - they all made there own pizza's
Kayla's Elmo bag she made for Textiles
Ok, that will do me for today. Hopefully next time it won't be as long inbetween posts

Baa Baa

Yep it's that time of the year again in Hamilton. It's Sheepvention Time. The biggest event in Hamilton and it's all about sheep. Sheep, sheep and more sheep. The kids are very happy about 'sheep' today. All the schools in the area have the day off - to celebrate. We are called the 'Sheep Capital of the World'. When you go to Sheepvention you know why. You have never seen so many different types of sheep. BAAAAAAAAAA!!!!I am glad we decided not to go this year. It's been raining this morning. You would need gumboots and a portable fire place to be comfortable.

Our DT member Tania (Chilli) is running photography and photoshop tutorials at DIVAS. This fortnights challenge was to use your camera in 'P' mode. These two photo's were taken in the same spot just using different settings. Oh and facial expressions LOL!

More Challenges

Challenges are always great fun. It makes you think outside the box.
Jarred has been sick first with a cold, that turned into croup, which then resulted in a very sick little boy. The doctors verdict was 'viral'. He hasn't been eating or sleeping very well. No kindy for him this week. He missed out on doing a town tour excursion. He is slowly getting better. He is a Queenslander and not used to this cold, wintery weather. He has now shared his germs with Kayla, who has a cold. She isn't a good 'sick' person. She hates being sick.
Kayla has started cooking this term. Today she brought home a veggie quiche which was really yummy. Last year this girl, didn't want to know about cooking or sewing. Now she can't wait to do it.
Kloe is doing really well with her school work and reading. She is reading so well now. She has made a really good little friend. I say little because she is the same size as Kloe. Everyone else towers over these two little girls. Szara is coming over for a play tomorrow after school, Kloe can't wait.
Zac - well, what can I say about this boy. Zac is Zac. He grumbles, he groans, he moans. But I wouldn't be without him.

Some other news

I am very happy to announce that Michelle at SCRAPBOOK DIVA'S has asked me to join her very talented design team. I had a great time working on the team during my Guest DT stint. I am looking forward to being on the team full time.

It's like living in a freezer

Well at least like a fridge!. It was just a little cold this morning. It was so beautiful when the sun came up - yes, I am going mad!

And a page I did on Saturday night.
We worked in the veggie garden over the weekend again. We only have one more garden bed to put and edge on.

All in the name of progress

There has been talk since before Christmas about an adjoining property being sub divided. It is a 10 acre piece of land (like ours) and it will be divided into 10, approx 1 acre lots. Selling for about $130k each. Well the last few weeks, people have been coming and going. This morning the boys were very excited when they saw 'BIG TRUCK' start working down there. They are making a road. Zac wanted to stay home and watch. Jarred has been sitting at the window watching the progress all morning.

You can see a telegraph pole to the right - that is our boundary

And some more pages I managed to get done last night.
Diva July Challenge - Using cardstock, pp, chipboard, buttons, brads, ribbon and staples. On the 20th July we celebrated 21 years together.

Happy, happy

Finding time to do any 'fun' things lately has been very hard. Life is just go, go, go - well at least it's never boring.

At DIVA'S we did a Secret Santa in July swap. My parcel of goodies arrived today. I am one very lucky girl - I received so many gorgeous presents. Lots of time and thought went into my very special present. Thank you SS xoxo

Don't forget DIVA'S is holding it's monthly CC tomorrow night. Come join in, the fun.

Around the house

We have flowers. We planted white camellia's all the way along the front of the house last year. We now have gorgeous flowers appearing. They still have a lot of growing to do.

The weekend was spent in the veggie garden making the edging for the beds. We still have a few to do. Our neighbour Steve had some old fence panels. That we collected and then had to take apart. All it cost was two packets of screws and lots of work. The difference is amazing. It will be so much easier to maintain. The green bushy things in the 3rd bed are beans - won't be long and we will have lots. They are flowering now.

And our girls. The best recyclers there are. Here they are eating the broccoli plants that are finished. They eat everything. Nothing like fresh eggs.

Does he..........

Does he really love to cook? Or does he just love eating it?

This boy asks everyday "Can we cook today Mum?"
Today we went grocery shopping and then came home and baked.
We made cupcakes with yellow icing. Fairy cupcakes with fresh cream and strawberries, choc chip biscuits and banana & raspberry bread.

Hopefully it will keep them quite for a while.

Just a few............

Sorry I had to remove this page

My very special friend Rach, had a kit sent to me because, she already had the papers. How lucky am I? All the pages above (bar one) are using the kit. Sorry the pic's aren't too good. The weather is bad to normal - overcast, raining and COLD. It was 8 degrees at 3pm. The weekend is supposed to be worse.

Super Packed Weekend

We headed into Melbourne early Saturday morning to pick Kayla and Zac up from the airport. Their flight was slightly delayed. After getting them and all their luggage (lots more came home) we headed off to find Calder Park Raceway. For Christmas we gave Chris a voucher for a V8 Supercar Drive. It was icy cold and overcast. We sat outside and froze (the things I do to get some photo's) the two girls had to go back to the car, they were so cold. The boys however, were not letting the cold stop them from watching Dad - GO REALLY FAST!

All suited up and ready for action.

Waiting his turn - it was amazing how many people were there.

If Jarred could of, he would have been a passenger.

Finally in the car

Off and racing............................

Totally awesome was his reply when getting out. "Can you buy that again for me?"

We then headed into Melbourne to find where we were staying. We had an apartment in Brunswick, a few hundred metres from Lygon Street. We put our stuff inside and went for a walk down to Lygon Street to have some dinner. We were all cold and hungry. We found a lovely Italian Place called "Crooners". If you are ever in Melbourne and want a great place to eat, make sure you check this place out. The food was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. We all shared our dishes around. We walked back and watched a movie (thanks Uncle Paul) Well we watched 1/2 of it - we were all exhausted.

Sunday: We went on a tram ride

These two were so excited about going on the tram

And after two tram rides and LOTS of walking we found the Museum.

They had a special exhibit called "Hatching the Past" All about dinosaurs for our dinosaur crazy boy. It was fantastic - very hands on. We all loved it.

We had a super quick look around some of the Museum - Kloe in the olden day house

And of course Kayla wanted to see Phar Lap - this horse is huge.
In the afternoon we took the kids to see their first live footy match at the MCG. Sydney Swans V Hawthorn. It was a Hawthorn home game. Heaps of Hawthorn supporters. We had fantastic seats. Kayla was cheering very loudly, unfortunately - it didn't help. The Swans lost.

Another Tram ride around the city. And Lots, and lots and lots of walking. We walked along Lygon Street past all these lovely places to eat....nope the kids wanted to go back to where, we had dinner the night before. We didn't complain. The food was just as good the second night. We were all exhausted by the time we got back. We watched the 2nd half of the movie and went to sleep. Monday it was time, to hit the road and return home.
It was a super, jam packed weekend.
