World Card Making Day 2009

It is World Card Making Day on Saturday October 3rd. World Card Making Day is a special day especially for card makers around the world, to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create, between friends and family. It is a day to connect with fellow card makers both near and far, to applaud the creativity that powers the craft, and to provide an opportunity for card makers to connect and find resources that will empower, inspire, and encourage them in their card making.

We have babies

.......................of the chicken variety LOL!!! We don't have any clucky chooks, so Chris has been trying to get some eggs to hatch in an incubator. Unfortunately so far, it has not been successful. However a friend had a chook, that went clucky and they put some eggs under her. Mother Nature works wonders - we now have two little chicks. Our adopted Mummy is so protective and we aren't allowed anywhere near her babies. As soon as we go near her, she goes back in her box and calls the little ones. They are just so cute!!!

Where have I been?

Last week was just a blur. We had so much going on. Chris celebrated the big '40' on Thursday. We had a big party on Saturday. His family traveled down from Sydney to celebrate, which was so lovely. I will share some photos soon.

Another week rolls by

Gosh has it been a week already? I have been very busy this week creating projects, I can't share just yet.

A little birdie told me, I also have another card on the cover of the latest Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft - which is just fantastic. I did a product challenge using Cosmo Cricket papers, quite a while back and I loved how it all turned out. I will share some pictures of it soon.

Thursday is also weekly upload challenge day at Scrapz.biz. I can't show you my challenge, this week here. You can see it HERE. It's for the birthday boys big '40' birthday and he likes to come and read this blog LOL!. The design team have been busy putting together some amazing challenges. Pink, red and green

Our latest challenge for Addicted to Craft was to create a layout using pink,red and green. We all received Scrap Within Reach Emmerson range to work with. Check out the BLOG for the amazing work and variation the design team have come up with. Angella is also running a little competition so have a little look at that while you are there.

It was a lovely day here today. The sun was shining but it's still cool. It is so wet outside and we are expecting more rain tomorrow.

Crazy Cropping Samples

Sadly these are my last DT Samples for Divas. I have resigned my position on the design team, to allow me, some more time to work on other projects. Michelle gave me my first DT position and I will be forever grateful for that. I will really miss working with my wonderful friend Rach and all the team.

Spilling the beans

I can finally spill the beans. I have been keeping a big secret and I can now finally tell you.

My lovely online friend Heike, has opened her very own online store and I will be joining her design team. I am so thrilled and excited to be part of this new site. Heike has huge plans. She has starting filling the shop with loads of yummy goodies. There will be lots of challenges and competitions.

The shop officially opens tomorrow. The rest of the site will be live from August 1.

Crazy Cropping this week at Divas

Starting Monday 13th is our next Crazy Crop Week over at Divas. Head over there now to sign up and then check out the challenges, 1 each day from Monday to Friday.

Second week of school holidays

We are already into our second week of school holidays. Gosh the time goes quick. Chris is also on leave from work. Not by choice, all employees were asked to take leave. It's a long story and fingers crossed, things will be ok shortly. We have been making the most of our time, our resources and supplies on hand.

While the weather has allowed, we have been busy outside planning new gardens, planning tree planting along the driveway, preparing a path from the drive to the house and spreading those big bales of straw. The boys are busy outside, making a new chook shed today from all the old fencing materials.

When the weather was bad, we did things inside. Jarred and Kloe have always shared a room and I had a 'study'. We knew there would come a time when we would have to move things around. Nothing like a cold and very wet day to rearrange the house. Jarred now has his own room. He wanted a green bedroom, because 'green' is his colour at the moment. He has a alien green feature wall in his new room. Think Ben 10 - green :)

Kloe is very happy, she now has a room to herself. Of course she wants her room painted also. My desk and things are all in the TV room now.

I think I need to get the camera out and take some photos.

Hail Storm

Just after lunch we had a huge hail storm blow through. The kids thought is was so cool. Everything turned white.

The funny big round things are bails of straw, waiting to be spread on our new garden beds. We are just waiting for the weather to co-operate.

Of course, the kids had to go and play in it and eat it!!!

Typical Victorian weather - the sun was out not long after. It's now raining again!!!
