To all those lovely people who sent emails and PM's convincing me I should enter the Design Team Competition at Diva's - thank you for believing in me! You all know who you are.
I am thrilled to announce that I am the Guest Designer for DIVA'S for the month of May and June. I would like to thank Michelle and the girls for having me as part of the team. Michelle is going to keep me very busy, with lots of things to design. I am so thankful for this opportunity.
It has been a few scrappy weekend. With Diva's holding their monthly cybercrop (CC). I had to work very quickly and make my sample pages, after finding out what the girls challenges were about lunch time on Friday.
Vicky's Challenge:
Use blue, A song title and a page from a book
Here is my sample page.
Rach's challenge:
Use a CD to make an off the page project.
Here is my sample
Community Challenge:
Black and White, music notes and paint.
Here is my page
Sunday Speed Scrapping:
You have 1 hours to complete a layout. I used this to cover two challenges. I am still doing my daily pages for 3AS. I have scrapped at least one layout everyday for the month of April. I am almost there. Some days this challenge has been hard, but it has also been lots of fun. So here is my page for Speed scrapping and 27th April challenge, to use buttons
Tonight Rach is holding a free online class at Diva's would love to see you come and play.
In other news:
It has turned bitterly cold. Wind, showers and cold......now I'm remembering what Winter was like. Our air con has had, heart failure and frozen up several times already. We have to turn it off, for several hours.....yes that means no HEATING while it's FREEZING! Luckily the nice man rang this morning to tell me, they will be installing our wood fire on Wednesday. I really wanted to beg him, to come today.
Chris has been busy preparing more veggie gardens. He has broccoli, cauliflowers, onions, garlic, potatoes and beans all growing now. It will be the last of the zucchinis and tomatoes as they hate frost. We had frost twice in the last week.
Chris is also obsessed with the "Footy tipping comp" at the moment. It is very serious. He is now 1st at work. He is most impressed with himself.
The chooks are slowly starting to get along. Kayla's chook is the 'nasty girl' They are still having to be separated, in the evening. They seem to be ok, while out during the day.
Kayla and Zac have a pupil free day today. Kloe was the only one who went to school. She didn't like the fact that they were staying home. She brightened up when I told her she could have a lunch order (which she hasn't had this year) bribery always works LOL!
I also had another page accepted by Scrapbook Creations, late last week. Another page of Jarred titled "Mischief, me?". That makes acceptances and publications in all three Aussie Mags, so I am pretty happy with that. (Hey Dad....are you counting?? LOL)
Otherwise we are all good and healthy (touch wood)
Enjoy your week. Mine is going to be busy!

You have come back to play......
Thursday I had the wonderful pleasure of doing Kindy Duty all day. This included another trip to see 'Pirate Pete'. It was so much fun, because we got to ride on the big bus 'twice'. Pirate Pete saw me walk in and says "Arrrrrrrr, you've come back to play with me again" I told him I was awake up to his tricks!!! It was funny seeing one of our dad's having to get up and help sing and dance. Poor Matt had just finished a shift (he is a policeman) he had a jacket over his work uniform - but that didn't go unnoticed. "Pirate Pete" picked on him even more. He said "Lucky I'm leaving town right after this, otherwise he might arrest me". It was fun, even if it was the same show, same jokes.....the kids just loved it.
On the big bus......right at back.
Saturday we got two new chooks. They will be ready to lay in about two weeks. Our girls are so nasty. You should have seen them bully the new girls. Chris built the new girls a separate pen. Apparently the new girls are called "Baked and Boiled" I think it will be a while before we are able to put them together. The weather has been lovely. Cool mornings and evenings but glorious during the day. Jarred has been asking to have a fire, because he wanted to toast marshmallows. So on Saturday night we had a fire. We had mini quiche's and cheese sticks by the fire (all except Jarred who decided he wanted noddles) Then we toasted marshmallows. It was almost a full moon, so it was a really bright evening and not too cold.
Yesterday was spent gardening, baking and cleaning!
Have a great week

Ahoy there me Hearties...........
Today Jarred's kindy class had a very special outing to see 'Pirate Pete' (the same one we saw in Huskisson - Aunty Donna will remember him well) I went along as a 'helper'. I didn't mind as it was a great chance to get some pictures.
Here is Pirate Pete
Jarred was delighted when he got me into trouble and "Pirate Pete" had me up, to help him sing, dance and do the actions, together with another poor innocent Mum from another Kindy group. It was all in good fun and totally embarrassing. My friend Jac took charge of my camera........just so I would never forget!
I am now the proud owner of a pirate bandanna, eye patch, flag and a 'Pirate Pete' cd. He also tells us our photo will appear on his Website in the next few days...Something to really look forward to LOL!

More challenges
9th - Copy a layout
Day 10 - Use waves or curves
Day 11 - Use traditional boys colours on a girls page
Day 12 - Use a sketch to make a double page layout
And today is to make cards.
Yesterday was spent doing 'Yard duty at Kindy'. Which included mowing, sweeping, raking, cleaning and of course Jarred and Kloe had a ball 'playing'. We spent a few hours there in the morning. They we came home and started our own 'yard' duty. Chris had to go and man the gate at the Hamilton Races for the cricket club in the afternoon. It turned really cold and wet.....which was a shame because we were going to go to the Speedway. Instead we spent a nice night in, with the heater going being entertained by our "Very happy, lucky and quite drunk neighbour who had forgot to bring his keys home" Steve had spent the day at the races and enjoyed himself and won himself quite a bit of money. Steve is such a character and is always entertaining. The kids had him, making paper aeroplanes. This turned into a full on competition to see who had the best paper aeroplane. Good fun.
Today we are back to cutting and stacking wood.

Gosh, where have the days gone?
The weekend was spent collecting, cutting and stacking firewood. It was all hands on - as you can see. The kids had so much fun. It was so nice to see everyone working together to get the job done (I'm singing the Bob the Builder song LOL!)
And we have had a bit of rain so everything has a hint of green. We need a lot more. Now no laughing from any of you with lovely, green lush grass.
Monday was back to school. I think the kids had a really good restful holiday, as they were all quite happy to go back to school. Gosh, it gets busy when they are all back at school.
And some more challenges:
5th - Use a tree or bird (Didn't want to see another tree, so I used a bird)
6th - Multi photo page
7th - Use stamps
8th - Use Stars
More good news, another acceptance yesterday! I'm on a roll. Someone pinch me, please.
Enjoy your week!

Friday was a good day
I would be very happy if I could have a Friday, like this one every week.
I won one of the challenge's from Diva's CC last weekend. So I have a store voucher to spend on more supplies.
I had another page accepted by Scrapbooking Memories. It is another one of Miss Kayla for their 'Teens Gallery' so that make two in the same gallery.
So I'm happy!!! I still find it hard to believe, that my pages are good enough to be published.

Another day another LO
3 days, 3 layouts...................I only have to keep this up for the rest of the month. Yesterday's challenge was to use an arrow. Here is my page
Miss Kayla had another dentist appointment yesterday. So it was another trip to Warrambool to the dentist. I really wish we could use a dentist in town. It is a really easy drive, just annoying that you have to drive two hours to go to the dentist. I know I should be thankful, I used to have to drive 5 hours just to go shopping LOL! So yesterday afternoon she was feeling a bit sore and sorry for herself. Poor darlin'.
Our friend 'Farmer' Bruce delivered a load of wood to us yesterday. All ready for our wood heater. We should have it installed within two weeks (fingers crossed). We are so lucky to have made, such wonderful friends who go out of their way, to do nice things for us and not want anything in return.
Today is the last day of school holidays. The last two weeks have just flown by, in a blur. Next school term is going to be very looooooooooong! Twelve weeks, the kids are going to be exhausted.
Have a great weekend!

The sun is shining
The weather yesterday was horrible. The wind was so strong, I was sure we were going to be blown on the hill. It rained on and off all day. We really need the rain, but we could have done without the wind.
Yesterday our neighbour Steve brought over 1/2 a lamb for us. He had cut it all up and prepared it into a leg, chops, cutlets and a fore quarter. The kids were having a really hard time with the fact that it was in our paddock the other day. We had roast lamb for dinner. Chris and I enjoyed it (best lamb we had ever had) the kids either refused to eat it or ate very little. They are going to have to get used to the idea. We have another one coming today.
On Monday night I did on online class with Rach at Diva's. It was a multipage LO. Here is my page/s. All about Zac's swimming carnival and him winning age champion
And I am taking up the challenge over at 3AS to scrap a LO everyday in April. Yesterdays' challenge was to use blue and green. It is going to be hard but I think I am up to the challenge. It's a great way of getting a lot of LO's done.
And..........
A very special person is having a birthday today
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY
WONDERFUL FRIEND
RACH
Hope your day is as special as you are!!!

Be thankful
Yesterday we received some very sad news. A guy Chris works with was killed in a head on car collision, while on his day off. His wife happens to be our hairdresser. She is 7 months pregnant with their first child. When things like this happen it makes you stop and look at your own life and appreciate what you have..............................
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.
Give your loved ones, an extra special cuddle today and be thankful for what you have. You just don't know when, that can be so quickly taken away.
